Shopping When Stressed....

Shopping!

Retail Therapy - I love it! As scary as it is to admit it, I do think there is something calming when I do a "little" shopping when all else seems out of control. Not to mention that when you get home and change your mind you can return the item/items. Clearly, it is more productive to go for a walk or run, meditate or pray when you feel stressed....but gosh, every once and a while.....a little "shopping while stressed" is just what we need! It is better than eating some high calorie treat and then feeling guilty...right? What do you do to calm down when stressed?

  1. Nothing like something NEW to make you feel better...except when BUYERS REMORSE sets in!! I walked yesterday instead!

    1. I agree! Now that the weather is so nice, I will be walking more too!

  2. I read somewhere that the brain's pleasure chemicals are produced when shopping, but you get just as much benefit from browsing as you do from actually purchasing. The suggestion was to window-shop, try things on, shop all day if you want to, but you don't have to actually buy anything to feel better. I'm not completely convinced it's true, but I have found that I enjoy my online shopping binges just as much if I DON'T checkout at the end as if I do.
