Good morning! I had not been to a garage/estate sale in ages, but this morning while running errands I saw a sign for an estate sale and I had to stop! Inside the home were some lovely things, nothing I necessarily needed, but lovely none the less. Just as I was about to exit I spied this creative dish.
It was marked $1. I picked it up immediately and went to pay for it. The lady who was collecting the money explained that her mother was into making pottery at one phase and this was one of her pieces. I asked if she wanted to keep it, she said, "no, please take it and enjoy it". I think it will be such a conversation piece at a summer party. Don't you agree? Such fun and only $1!
Have a wonderful Saturday!
It is very cute! So perfect for your love of the beach and shore.
ReplyDeleteKind of a familiar style; I would maybe do a bit of research and make sure you don't have a major midcentury treasure on your hands rather than someone's home craft project. ;-)
Thanks! I wish it was a major find, but she signed the bottom of it. I will treasure it though! ;-)
DeleteHi there! So glad you found my blog so that I could, in turn, find yours! Don't you just love, Lori?!!! She always manages to touch my heart.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to the Midwest! I can't imagine you could be satisfied living here (or maybe it's must me and my midlife crisis!), but having reconnected with your soul mate probably helps! :)
I have a love affair with all things Southern and secretly wish I was a true Southern Belle instead of a Midwest cowgirl! LOL On the other hand, I try to make the best of a bleh situation (hasn't this summer just been horrible?!) as I am now the mother of three legitimate Jayhawkers...even though I am a Missouri grad!
I am slowly imparting the wisdom of Lilly upon my own daughter...age 8. She just purchased her first ever "grown up" planner...and it's by Lilly!
Thank you so much for your kind words on my weight loss. Looking forward to getting to know you better. I can't believe how fast this decade seems to be going...wasn't I just crying over turning 40?!!! Now, I'm going to be 43 in a couple weeks. eeeek! Especially since I only have an 8, 5, and 2 year old. LOL
Hi Valerie and welcome to OMG I am 50! Thank you for your warm note! We have lots in common! :Yes, this summer has been horrible - soooo incredibly hot! I do find it challenging being consistently satisfied here. The people are great, but shopping is challenging (thus the comment in my profile about online shopping. We are lucky to travel fairly frequently, so I get my shopping, great restaurant, water fix (smile). You were so right though, reconnecting with my soulmate is worth every minute of being here. We will probably move to NC when my husband retires. My girls 21 and 19 love Lilly too. My 19 discarded it for a while, but she is slowly coming back. Happy early birthday, 43 will be a wonderful year. Looking forward to getting acquainted too! Keep up the great work on the weight loss - so inspiring!
DeleteThat dish looks so pretty and very original. Love pieces like that. I'm pretty sure it would be a great story to tell inquisitive vistors to your home.
